Why we are building Reshop

Did you know 20% of all items bought online get returned??? If we are being honest in this safe space, my personal return rate is probably more like 40%…

So much of what I buy online these days just doesn’t work out how I want it to. I’m embarrassed to admit that for environmental reasons, and I’m also so sick of managing all my returns in a note on my phone to make sure I actually get my refund back.

I also had a horrible returns experience with Saks a few years ago and it really eroded my trust, so now I have to check that I actually get the refund $ back in my account every time I ship something back.

The returns experience now just sucks the joy out of online shopping for me. But there is still so much unique inventory you can only get online that it’s just not possible to stop online shopping at this point.

So last year I joined a small team of wonderful humans building reshop.com. We recognized all these horrible aspects of returns really needed a solution but couldn’t find one that ticked all the boxes, so we are building it for ourselves.

Right now we offer:

• Instant refunds (I truly mean “this second” when I say instant) to get you your money as soon as you initiate the refund.
  • Not only does this get the $s back in your wallet so you can buy something else (girl math says that makes it free right?!) BUT it also means that you don’t have to go back into your account in 3 weeks to check you actually got the refund.
• Personalized suggestions and discounts to use your refund $.

We are just about to launch:

• One app to track all of your orders and refunds. Finally a place to see all your tracking links in one place!!
• An ability to get an instant refund on any of those orders or refunds you see in the app.
• Automatic refund initiation. So you don’t have to go get your order number from your Gmail app and then enter it in the refund flow… we’re finally putting AI to work for a good cause!
• And many more features…!
